We have had a number of press articles for the year, mainly to do with our planned RHS Chelsea exhibit and collaboration with British jewellery designer and brand Theo Fennell. Sadly for 2020 due to coronavirus the RHS Chelsea Flower Show will not take place, but you will be able to see our exhibit in 2021, Theo Fennell have designed an exclusive peony jewellery collection which will be launched at the show. We are writing about peonies for various media outlets so once those become available we will share links to where you can read about these.
2019 Was a fantastic year for Primrose Hall Peonies in the press. We launched a new peony at the Chelsea Flower Show. Peony ‘All That Jazz’ which was bred by Don Smith. The peony made the top twenty plants for the Plant of the Year Competition and therefore received a lot of attention in the media. The nursery also won their first gold medal for their peonies or Paeonia as they are known in horticulture at Chelsea and Carol Klein picked our exhibit “Love Peonies” as one of her Chelsea Flower Show highlights. Another highlight of the year was the grand opening of the new RHS Wisley which included our plants now been exclusively sold in their new garden centre on site.
Our Models in British designer, Alan Hannah, dresses with peony posies and headpieces caught the attention of the media as well as our exhibit “Love in the Mind” highlighting the romance of peonies the RHS Chelsea Flower Show. The centre of the exhibit featured a beautiful bespoke steel garden sculpture by British sculptor, Charles Elliott. Alec White was also interviewed by Kelly Brook about choosing cut flower peonies and when best to pick and place your peonies in a vase for the home. Carol Klein was filmed on our exhibit talking about intersectional peonies and all the different varieties you are able to buy.
Our exhibit highlighting the fragrance of peonies at the RHS Chelsea Flower show in 2017 was featured on the BBC and we demonstrated how to make a peony headpiece live on TV with the ever stylish and super lovely Nicki Chapman. We also created giant peony headdresses and had models wearing award winning British wedding dress designer Kate Halfpenny dresses, these images were seen internationally in the Press and were made iconic for the Chelsea Flower Show in 2017.
2016 was our first year at the Chelsea Flower show and we had the privilege to be mentored by award winning garden designer and Chelsea regular Kate Gould, she gave us so man useful tips and advice and helped to understand what the judges were looking for. Our exhibit received some mentions in press and horticultural trade magazines.
